The resurrection of Christ is more than a climatic moment in the gospels. It is the remedy to the story of Scripture and the launch pad of the church. This Easter we hope that in examining the responses of Jesus’ resurrection we can process our own response to the Gospel and understand the purpose it drives us toward.

Palm Sunday is here! And as we close out Colossians we can see how Paul used the same themes of Palm Sunday throughout Colossians to provide it’s readers with hope, peace, and guidance in Christ Jesus.

The Gospel doesn’t just call us to a new life one day. It calls us to a new life here and now. It calls us to seek out the heavenly here on Earth. Join us as we unpack what Paul means when he encourages us to seek the “things above.”

So often we present the gospel as a finish line to our lives: the climatic move of returning to God after a life running from him. But Paul presents it as a launching point for a life to come. Join us as we take a look at how the Bible pushes us forward into a life of joy, pease, and holiness in the pursuit of Christ.

We see two prayers for the Church in Colossae, and neither one is for deliverance. What we do see in these prayers is how God equips us to do more than survive the battles of life. Join us as we dig into how God built His people to walk in His glory through the storms of life and how we can find His peace in trying times.

When Paul writes to Colossae he is writing to a city in decline and a people who are worried about their future, under pressure, and divided. Yet his letter offers a new hope in a trying time. This Christ-centered letter may just be the word we need right now. Join us as we start our walk through Colossians and examine how Christ alone offers a path forward when all hope is lost.

The Gospel is God’s most powerful tool to move us into a life of freedom, love, hope, and beauty. But it is also marinated in difficulty. Since the onset of the church there had been a temptation to replace the Gospel with something easier. But what is the cost?

In our fourth part, we examine the fallout of a failed enlightenment. How the search for truth turned us towards the natural world, and how the earliest scientists believed they could better understand the God of the universe through studying His creation. For us today, we may ask, “Do faith and science truly contradict?” What lesson can we find from those common men who came before us and the passages they turned to in their examination of the World?

The splintering of the church didn’t just shake Christianity, it shook the Western world. One of the most pivotal upturns was around the idea of truth. This week, we will look at how enlightenment shaped our understanding of truth to the modern day and what we as Christians can stand upon in a world of pluralism and “my truths.”
